Amplified Opera primarily operates in Tkarón:to, the Kanienʼkéha (Mohawk language) word for “the place where the trees are standing in the water," and colonially known as Toronto, Ontario. AO acknowledges the this land is that traditional territory of many nations, including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee, and the Wendat peoples, and is currently also home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples.
